About me

I’m a clinical psychologist specializing in psychotherapy for adults. I work with people who want to better understand themselves, their relationships, and the patterns that shape their lives.

My Approach

I love helping people see themselves with fresh eyes.

So often, when we’ve lived inside the same patterns for years, we begin to mistake those patterns for who we are. But when we slow down and approach them with curiosity rather than criticism, we begin to recognize that they are learned ways of relating to ourselves and others rather than fixed truths about ourselves.

Through therapy, we can then begin to understand why our patterns developed and whether they’re still serving us.

Our patterns take shape in our relationships.

Together, we’ll explore how your past and present relationships have influenced the way you experience yourself and the world. We do this not to assign blame to others or yourself, but to better understand how you came to be who you are.

Understanding often creates space for greater self-compassion. We also pay attention to what unfolds between us in therapy, since the ways we relate in the room can often illuminate important dynamics outside of it.

Let’s transform understanding into meaningful change.

Alongside my relational insight-oriented work, I also draw from mindfulness-based approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Part of that work involves helping people clarify what matters most to them, so that the choices they make reflect the kind of person they want to be and the life they want to build.

My Training and Professional Development

Throughout my training, I’ve worked in hospitals, community mental health centers, college counseling centers, and private practice.

I’m a lifelong learner and regularly attend seminars, consult with colleagues, and stay current with new research. In addition to my clinical practice, I enjoy teaching and supervising early-career therapists.

My post-graduate training includes:

My Life Outside the Therapy Room

When I’m not working, I enjoy practicing Iyengar yoga, spending time in nature, watching character-driven TV, delighting in absurd humor, and being with the people and cats that I love. I’m also a student of the Diamond Approach, a path of spiritual inquiry that has become an important part of my life.

My Values

Honesty

I believe that honesty — with ourselves and with others — is the foundation of a meaningful life. Therapy asks us to look clearly at what we feel, what we want, and what isn’t working. As we do that, we begin to live with greater integrity. When our lives reflect what we truly believe and feel, a deeper kind of peace becomes possible.

Courage

Honesty requires courage. It takes bravery to examine uncomfortable truths, to experiment with new behaviors aligned with your values, and to allow yourself to be fully seen and known. Therapy itself is an act of courage — a willingness to be vulnerable with another person in the service of growth.

Compassion

Clarity alone does not heal. What transforms us is compassion — the practice of meeting ourselves with warmth and understanding rather than judgment. Compassion means allowing your struggles, flaws, and contradictions to exist without harsh self-criticism. When honesty is paired with kindness, shame begins to soften, and self-acceptance becomes possible.

Service

The values that guide my clinical work also guide my life outside the therapy room. Since the beginning of my private practice, I have donated 10% of my gross income each month to highly effective charities. For me, service is an expression of integrity — a way of extending care beyond the individual and into the wider world.
