I’m here to help you recognize, understand, and accept your emotions.
I’m Dr Sherry, and I work with a lot of people in Brooklyn whose minds won’t slow down. You know that feeling of always thinking three steps ahead, worrying about things that haven’t even happened yet? That exhaustion? That’s what I focus on, and I get it.
Together, we will:
Most people I work with aren’t falling apart. They’re just tired. Tired of their own thoughts running on a loop, tired of second-guessing everything, tired of feeling like their mind never really settles.
Anxiety therapy is often a fit if you:
If you’re feeling stuck, book a call to start your journey of self-exploration.
In-person therapy available. Virtual therapy available in certain circumstances.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in adult psychotherapy. Throughout my training, I have worked in hospital, community mental health, college counseling, and private practice settings. In my current practice, I approach my patients through a relational lens and explore how past and present connections influence their sense of themselves and the world. Together, we will make sense of how your important relationships have shaped who you are.
We regard the therapy relationship with a spirit of curiosity, and examine how patterns that emerge in-session may also be present in other important relationships. To the extent that these patterns lead to disconnection, we consider and experiment with other ways of relating that lead to more fulfilling bonds. I also use interventions from a variety of mindfulness-based cognitive-behavioral modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). By tailoring each treatment to the individual patient, I have helped people manage their experiences of depression and anxiety to live more fulfilling lives.
I have a special clinical interest in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, and hold a certificate in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies and Research from the California Institute of Integral Studies. In cases where patients don’t respond to traditional therapy, I offer Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). KAP is a therapeutic approach that integrates ketamine, a powerful psychoactive substance, with psychotherapy to address a variety of psychological needs.
I am a lifelong learner, and take continuing education seriously by regularly attending seminars, consulting, and reading current research. I also love to teach: In addition to my clinical practice, I provide supervision and didactic training to early career therapists, supporting them in developing the skills necessary for effective clinical work.
